To myself (and any friends/family/others who stumble across my blog in its early stages):
This blog is intended for Students of Finance. Personally, I consider myself to be a “Student of Finance” in a philosophical sense, even though I finished my formal education when I graduated college a little while back. The concept of being a Student of Finance simply refers to the mindset of constantly learning, seeking new ideas, and challenging yourself, whether you’re aiming to be a world-class financial advisor or whether you simply want to manage your personal finances more effectively.
My initial intention is to create content on a weekly basis to share some ideas related to finance that I find interesting. A few broad categories that I plan to cover are finance book reviews, financial planning, and investing, but there may be some spillover topics that cover motivation, education, and career planning. My posts should be applicable to readers of all ages; however, there may be times when my ‘young’ point of view shines through. With that said, I will do my best to be accurate and unbiased, present objective data where possible, and clearly state whenever I give my opinion on the matter.
The Student of Finance blog is my first real blog. I recognize that it will be a constantly improving work-in-progress while I hone my blogging skills, and I realize that at some point I’ll encounter those who disagree with me or simply don’t like me for no good reason. Regardless, I will strive to remain authentic and to continue my personal commitment to producing quality content, at least weekly, over the course of the next year. Cheers to the start of StudentofFinance.com.
Sincerely,
Josh
